This is a review of the ‘NUCLEAR EDITION’ of ‘BANG! POW! BOOM!’, all of it’s extras, and all of it’s freshness…

Before we get into that though, I need to update my speculation from the ‘B!P!B!’ review about this being the 7th Joker Card… Not long after that review I went to the ‘B!P!B!’ show, and straight out of Violent J’s mouth, he said something to the effect of “…we would not disrespect the 6th Joker Cards by calling this one the 7th… but what if this was the first in a whole new era of Joker Cards?…” (give or take something to that effect) . So this is not the 7th Joker Card, but indeed a possible 1st in a whole new saga…

Now that that’s out of the way… to the freshness…

Disc 1: the only difference you’ll find on here is track 2. This track is a 3 part mix of “BEAUTIFUL DOOM”, “CREEPY FREAK SHOW”, and “THE CLOWNS ARE BACK” simply titled “Triple Threat Mix”. It’s not some kind of crazy remix of all the tracks tossed into a blender…it’s merely one track fading into the next… Personally I would have taken the blended mix for some additional freshness, otherwise I prefer them individually.

Disc 2: Contains the 3 bonus tracks found at the end of each of the previous 3 editions. Also on this Disc you’ll find 3 previously unreleased tracks and separate track for the ‘BANG! POW! BOOM!’ sampler. The sampler is as entertaining as Psychopathic samplers usually are. The 3 new songs are nothing that blow my wig right off, but are 3 solid tracks that keep my need for new ICP material at bay…and let’s face…us Ninjas need it like crack. So let me be the one to say “thanks for the Rock.”

Disc 3: “In Yo’ Face” is a hot fucking music video! It rocks a Carnival Big Top interior stage-like setting with ICP, Blaze, Boondox, wicked carnies and more… very reminiscent of the “Tilt-A-Whirl” video (in visuals and in style).

The “Miracles” video is alright, nothing mind blowing, but visually it very much represents what the song is about and should calm, yet again, that need for new material.

“A Family Underground”, sporting a movie length run-time, gives us a very entertaining look into one of the Gatherings as it follows a few groups of individuals, as well as documentary footage taken throughout the event and over the course of the entire weekend. Most of us know already what this consists of, and all of us know the kinds of Ninjas you’re about to watch. You also Psychopathic artists interviews… Gathering guests interviews about how they see our community and the way they’ve been taken in… and some of my favorite stuff is seeing the likes of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope just chillin’ with the Juggalos and having a great time and fucking marrying Ninjas. And great lessons are learned from this documentary too… it’s not all fun and games, ya know? It’s educational too… for instance, when Shaggy is on a golf cart…LOOK THE FUCK OUT!

Over All…

This package costs less than the Triple Threat Pack of all 3 CDs, and it comes with a lot more. So this is definitely the Edition to get. Now for those of us who had already bought all 3 CDs… How mad were you that this didn’t come out first?…pretty fucking mad I bet… and now you need to buy a fourth one to get this fresh new material?…yes…yes you do… you’ll do it… angrily, but you’ll do it.

This is a package worth getting, especially for those of us who collect…but it doesn’t steer me away from thinking…”They had to have known that this was going to be released too…Why not just do it from the start?…oh that’s right…’cus they’re marketing geniuses extraordinaire.”

For those of you who can’t afford to get yet another Edition of ‘BANG! POW! BOOM!’, just go watch the videos and listen to those tracks at your homie’s place or on YouTube.

But to be fair…I probably would have paid $15 just for the Documentary DVD…and now I’m getting all this other stuff again with it!

For price and Freshness …it’s a 5 star package.
