CATCH SAY ANYTHING AS THEY WRAP UP THEIR HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

ANARCHY, MY DEAR OUT NOW;

CURRENTLY ON TOUR

Say Anything have been busy this spring, they’ve released their fifth full-length studio album ‘Anarchy, My Dear,’ blown up at SXSW, shot & released the captivating video for “Say Anything” and have been out amazing fans on their headlining North American tour that pulls into Tempe, AZ tonight. The band has built a reputation for their fun & energetic live shows and tonight’s appearance at The Marquee Theatre should be no exception. Our own Christopher Mark will be on hand to capture some shots of the band in action, so check back here for coverage of what should be a great night of music.

The video for their “atypically romantic number” (Rolling Stone), “Say Anything,” was directed by Darren King and is made up of a series of still photographs that took four days to shoot in Tyler, TX. Filled with whimsical colors and imaginative scenarios, the video features a monster made out of a drum set, synchronized dancing, a human pyramid, many tacos, and a cameo by Sherri DuPree-Bemis (Eisley). Frontman Max Bemis shares that he’s “never have had so much fun or put so much work into making a video. Really, very, extremely proud of this one. Darren is a genius.” “Say Anything” can be heard on the band’s recent release and fourth studio LP, Anarchy, My Dear (Equal Vision Records), which was produced by Tim O’Heir (Sebadoh, Superdrag).

Anarchy, My Dear, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Current Top 200, is Say Anything’s best charting record to date, and has been highly lauded by critics. Billboard praised, “Anarchy, My Dear is 49 minutes of focused maturity, impressive instrumentation and barrelfuls of frontman Max Bemis’s acerbic and eloquent lyricism. It’s also probably the group’s crowning achievement.” American Songwriter agreed, declaring “Anarchy, My Dear is more contrasting and experimental (hammered dulcimer, harmonica, steel guitar) than the indie rockers’ prior output, yet still manages to deliver the corybantic angst heard on 2004′s seamless …Is a Real Boy.” Entertainment Weekly found that “like a good long-distance run, Anarchy rewards with bursts of sonic endorphins.”

Say Anything is currently on the road, supporting Anarchy, My Dear, with Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band, Fake Problems, and Tallhart. Though the tour wraps at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on May 3rd, the band is excited to announce an additional show at KRAB Radio’s “Free 4 all 5″ in Bakersfield, CA on May 19th. About Little Rat Bastard

Little Rat Bastard.com had it’s official launch on “Leap Day” February 29th, 2008, and since then has been providing it’s readers with (mostly) well written reviews, as well as original news articles, RSS feeds, links to your favorite artists pages & social networks, plus links to purchase both new & old music alike. On average LittleRatBastard.com gets visited about 60,000 times a month and our reader base is still growing as is our list of offerings. We are currently looking to expand into artist interviews, and reviews of live shows. We have founded ourselves on the idea that most people would like to read a review written by and from the perspective of someone like themselves, as opposed to a professional critic. Our reviewers include people of widely ranging; ages, backgrounds, and musical preferences, and of course The Rat.
